Solicitation of Proposals to Treat Algae

The City of Madison, FL seeks to engage the services of a qualified firm or individual to provide the city a plan to treat filamentous algae occurring at the city’s Lake Francis.  Firms or individuals submitting proposals must have prior experience in treating algae on Florida’s lakes or ponds.  Proposals must adhere to standards required by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.  Proposals must include costs of all anticipated services.  A pre-proposal, on-site meeting is required.  Contact city Public Works Superintendent David Floyd at (850) 253-5765 to schedule the required pre-proposal meeting which must take place prior to 4 p.m., on May 5, 2017.  Deadline to submit proposals is 2 p.m., on May 12, 2017.  The envelopes containing the proposals must be clearly marked “Algae” and are to be sent or hand-delivered to the following address:  City Manager, City of Madison, 321 SW Rutledge Street, Madison, FL 32340.  The proposals will be opened at 2:05 p.m., on May 12, 2017 at the above-mentioned address. 

Documentation of Workman’s Compensation and General Liability coverage and State Licensing is required.

The City reserves the right to award this project without accepting public presentations from the submitting entities.


Solicitation of Proposals to Repair Fire/Rescue Department Roof

The City of Madison, FL solicits proposals for repair of the roof at the city’s Fire/Rescue Department building.  A pre-proposal meeting is required.  Contact Fire/Rescue Chief Bruce Jordan at (850) 253-5117 to schedule the required pre-proposal, on-site meeting which must take place prior to 4 p.m., on May 19, 2017.  Deadline to submit proposals is 2 p.m., on June 1, 2017.  The envelopes containing the proposals must be clearly marked “Roof Repair” and are to be sent or hand-delivered to the following address:  City Manager, City of Madison, 321 SW Rutledge Street, Madison, FL 32340.  The proposals will be opened at 2:05 p.m., on June 1, 2017 at the above-mentioned address. 

Proposals will need to include materials, labor, machinery, engineering, permits, roof coating, and details and length of warranty.

Proposals will be evaluated on factors such as costs, construction firm’s credentials, proposed approach to the project, and experience with similar projects during the past five years.

The city reserves the right to reject any and all proposals; seek new proposals when it is reasonably in the best interests of the city; waive any minor irregularities in the proposals; and request additional information from the proposers.
